Big Sky Project founded in 2005, is a grass-roots project based multimedia dance company

with its source and inspiration in the healing powers of the indigenous arts and the

natural world.  Big Sky Project was co-founded by Carrie Ellmore-Tallitsch

and  Blakeley White-McGuire,  in which we debuted a collection of our own works

at Jacob's Pillow Inside/Out.    Since then, Big Sky Project's vision has expanded

offering choreography, performances, workshops, and educational outreach

initiatives to create awareness of the healing power of art, in which we not only extend

to students and professionals, but to the non-professional as well.

Our newest multimedia art project is entitled "Crossroads:  A Journey Around

The Sacred Wheel."  This is a collaborative  work that began with exploring the creative

unconscious through drum work and guided journeying with co-creators Carrie Ellmore-Tallitsch,

David Carson, Greta Carson, Emma Carson, and music by John Carey.  We united our skills of

dance, music, poetry, and spoken word to originate an artistic expression of a journey around

the sacred medicine wheel, which celebrates the continual human cycle of life, how we relate to

the natural world, how we are all connected, and how we are able to inspire, heal ourselves, and our world.

In April 2008, a fifteen minute excerpt of "Crossroads" was presented at the 92nd Street Y

as a part of the "Sundays At Three" series and a generous rehearsal space grant from the

92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center.  Currently we are working on expanding

"Crossroads" into an evening length work approximately 75 to 90 minutes finished production that

will encompass the entire wheel.

Once complete we envision "Crossroads" premiering in a major New York City

venue.  After which we plan to tour the piece to venues outside of New York,

including conventional and non-conventional performance spaces, as well as

colleges and universities.

Currently, we are working on raising funds for a film shoot of the fifteen minute excerpt of "Crossroads"

at the end of March 2009.  We intend to use this film as a promotional video to send out as a professional

press package for possible funding and grant opportunities.
